Our mission
Our mission is to:
- help schools and teachers access the most appropriate and effective
Christian resources to support their teaching across all curriculum areas
- facilitate the development and provision of new resources
- raise awareness of the needs of schools amongst Christians
Project Manager
Ms Chris Westgarth
Until 1997 Chris worked extensively in education, specialising in Early Years
and Special Needs. Her excellent administrative skills are complemented by her
ability to provide creative input into many aspects of the project. Chris has a
dual role within the charity, as she is the Project Manager for CRiS and also
for the information portal SMSC Online. Her networking capabilities have
unearthed many new organisations and resources for schools that were initially
hard to find.
Chris is a member of the Becta (British Educational Communications and
Technology agency) focus group, Schools Ministry Network and the Association of
Christian Teachers. She is Chair of Governors at a local primary school, a SIAS school inspector (formally section 23) and chairman of her village Parish Council.
A committed Christian, Chris has a desire to see the prophetic and creative
arts released in the life of the church. Chris is involved in the life of a
local Anglican Church. She is a member of the PCC and, together with Liz Booker,
heads up the children's work at the church.
She believes that Christian involvement
in education issues should be seen as a very valid form of mission.
In her 'spare' time Chris enjoys travelling and has recently become the proud
owner of Duncan, a 1952 Series MM (Morris Minor).
Trustees
Mrs Liz Booker
Liz, a music teacher, is married to Mike, an Anglican vicar and they have 3
children. Liz enjoys teaching and is keen to instil a love of music in the lives
of the pupils she works with. In her spare time Liz enjoys reading and cooking,
especially recipes from Nigella's 'Feast' recipe book (even if she believes
Nigella has made a mistake with the amount of bicarb in the muffin recipe.!)
Dr Bob Crichton
Bob is married to Lynne and between them (it is a second marriage) they have six
children. He is a deacon of Comberton Baptist Church.
Bob is a Chartered Engineer, currently
running his own business specialising in the impact of technology on
organisations and society.
Miss Carol Greensmith
Carol
has recently taken early retirement from teaching. Carol originally trained as a
secondary teacher, then later taught for many years at primary level,
specialising in the foundation stage.
Carol enjoys music, travel, cooking and
ornithology. She is actively involved in the life of the local Baptist church.
Mr Norman Gulliver
Norman
worked in the Sales and Marketing areas of an electronics company from 1967
until early retirement in 1998. He has served as a Governor in two different
primary schools and also a clerk of Governors. Norman is treasurer of Eden Baptist Church, Cambridge. Norman enjoys travelling
and recently returned from a period overseas.
He enjoys watching Formula 1 racing. Norman is the chairman of Christian
Resources into Schools
